Here at the Assiniboine Community College Students’ Association, we endeavor to connect students with the resources that make student life a stress free experience. This includes ensuring students know that there are financial resources such as awards, scholarships and bursaries available to them through our association, the college or other external sources.

- Awards are usually given in recognition of school or community involvement and academic achievement.
- Scholarships are usually given based on academic achievement.
- Bursaries are usually given based on demonstrated financial need.
The Students’ Association offers several awards every year to students who have demonstrated outstanding engagement within the school and wider community.
Currently there are three (3) awards offered by the Students’ Association. The application period will open on February 15, 2019, and will close March 15, 2019. The awards are presented at the annual Student Achievements Award Ceremony, April 17, 2019.
The three Students’ Association awards include:
ACCSA Pat Josephson Memorial Award
The Pat Josephson Memorial Award of $3000 is open to graduating and bridging students. It will be awarded to an Assiniboine student whom has demonstrated academic achievement by earning a minimum of 3.0 GPA and has demonstrated significant college involvement and leadership. Applicants are required to write a 500 word essay describing in detail their dedication to student success through contributions and commitment to the Assiniboine Community College Students’ Association. They’ll also be required to provide a letter of reference verifying contributions and commitment to the Assiniboine Community College Students’ Association.
Pat Josephson was the Executive Director of the ACCSA for 23 years. She founded the 30 year community favorite event, Sun of a Beach indoor beach volleyball tournament, was a founding member of the ACC Alumni Association and contributed to the success of student academic appeals. Pat was famous for her smile, laugh and instant friendships. She lived a life of skating, organizing, and managing but always with a personal touch. Her values, beliefs and ethics were a model for many.
ACCSA Leadership Award
The Leadership Award of $1000 is open to graduating and bridging students. It will be awarded to an Assiniboine student whom has demonstrated college leadership. Applicants are required to write a 500 word essay describing how they demonstrate exceptional leadership skills through academic leadership opportunities, extracurricular engagements, athletic achievements and/or student activism at Assiniboine Community College. They’ll also be required to provide a letter of reference verifying their leadership contributions while at Assiniboine Community College.
ACCSA & Houston’s Student Life Award
The ACCSA & Houston’s Student Life Award of $1000 is open to bridging students. It will be awarded to an Assiniboine student whom has demonstrated college involvement. Applicants are required to write a 500 word essay describing in detail their participation and engagement in college life.
