Need help doing your taxes? Interested in helping other people do their taxes? The Community Volunteer Income Tax program (CVITP) has been in existence since 1971 and has a longstanding partnership between the Canada Revenue Agency, community organizations and their volunteers.

The Assiniboine Community College Students’ Association is excited to announce we will be hosting a free in-person tax clinic on March 22 & 29, 2023 from 3:30 – 5:30pm.

The ACCSA is currently recruiting volunteers to help students file their taxes. You don’t need experience doing tax returns in order to volunteer. All volunteers are offered web-based training on how to do taxes, using tax software. We are hoping to find between 10-20 volunteers to help with the tax clinic.

Steps to Follow:

1. To Volunteer: Click Here To Sign Up (make sure you state that you will be volunteering with our organization)

2. Get a RepID Number: Click Here

3. Once you have a REPID Number, Apply for EFILE (under How Do I Apply)

4. Connect with Alyshia Kelbert (kelberta@assiniboine.net) and state that you have applied to be a volunteer. She will provide you with a letter to take with you to apply for a criminal record check.

Tax Clinic Volunteer Sign Up Assistance 

Are you wanting to volunteer for the ACCSA Tax Clinic that will be hosted in March, but are in need of some assistance signing up? Alyshia Kelbert will be holding a session to help assist students with the process.

February 1st from 2:30-4pm in Board Room- 106.

 Make sure you bring the following with you:

• Your laptop.
• If you already have a CRA log in account, make sure you have that information with you.
• If you don’t have an account, bring your online banking information.
• You will also need your SIN number.

Please Note: International Students can only volunteer if they have filed at least one year of taxes in Canada
