Friday, March 15, 2024

Get your votes ready! The campaign period for the Students’ Association Council Elections is currently underway, and we’re excited to introduce you to this year’s SAC Election candidates!

Jimmy Teichroeb – Running for President

My name is Jimmy Teichroeb, I am 27 years old and am currently in the media and communications program. I love watching movies and plan to work in the industry after collage. I am originally from southern Manitoba and moved here to attend college. I never thought that I’d ever go to secondary school in general, be it college or university. I’m an average student, so my only concern was finding a job. When my brother and sister in-law encouraged me to attend ACC, I was hesitant at first but I’m glad that I did. College life has been hectic and stressful but I have loved every minute of it, especially meeting new people and all the great new experiences, I would not trade it for anything. I do not have much experience in this field but I’m a quick learner and would love the opportunity to grow and help the SA continue to grow, while providing the students of ACC with the best college experience.

Webber Xu – Running for Vice President Operations

Jordan Nunes – Running for International Representative

I am a current Business School student pursuing a diploma in Business Administration – Financial Services. Before coming to ACC, I hailed from a small island in much warmer regions, specifically; Jamaica situated in the Caribbean. WAH GWAAN! I am business professional who possesses over nine (9) years’ experience in the financial industry, and come with a wealth of project management experience and also a history of contributing to both school and business committees such as: Engagement committees and also Inclusion and Diversity committees.
I absolutely enjoy engaging and networking with different people and always try to spark interaction with different persons. After all, we are all sharing the same land, so we might as well be social! When I am not engaged in school or work activities, I spend my time playing tennis, basketball or firmly engaged in the gym. I always believe there is a lot to experience through interaction with different groups via different activities and live my life accordingly.

Kristen Nerbas – Running for Business Representative

Hey there! I am currently a first year Business Administration student looking forward to specializing in Financial Services coming up in my second year. Although I do not currently have a background in finance, I have developed a passion for such through the years of learning how money functions in our society, and understanding how I can be of service to others in planning for their financial futures. I enjoy being a leader and working with a team, which I’ve been able to utilize through my time in the past 5 years working as a server at The Keg. My goal through my time at Assiniboine Community College is to earn a broad spectrum of knowledge and skills to further me along in my desired industry in Financial Planning/Advising. In my free time, I love to keep busy with things like yoga, snowboarding and cuddling with my cat, Mack. I have been a Brandonite all my life, and being involved in my community is very important to me. I’m looking forward to summer to spend time in my garden and hiking in the Brandon Hills. Thank you for considering me to be your Business Representative coming up for the 24/25 school year! Let’s do this 😊

Monica Chira – Running for Business Representative

Hi!, my name is Monica Chira. I am currently a student in the Business Administration program at ACC.

I have been active in diverse programs as a volunteer, right now you can find me at WIS (Westman Immigration Service) and I’m also a member of the Immigrant Table at the Brandon Local Immigration Partnership. These experiences help me interact with other people, new perspectives, and different expertise, making me love the business career more.

This journey as a business student is a roller coaster of emotions but at the same time, it is an incredible adventure. My goal is for everyone to feel safe and valued in this program. I want to be another resource to advise you and help you develop and implement activities that create a welcoming environment for all of us.

I believe business students are a fundamental part of Assiniboine Community College and I want to use my previous experience plus the knowledge I’m obtaining to create a positive impact.
